Bio

My name is Davin Swenson, AKA Swensonic, and I am a being of sound. Always have been, always will be. I'm that kid you knew growing up, who had to practice music after school every day, no exceptions, before being allowed to play outside.

Approximately 5 years ago, I attended my first innovative electronica party; at that time I was a naive frat boy, who took hip-hop as the gospel and thought techno was too repetitive and boring. I was interested only in drinking, skipping class, talking to girls, and living a typical strucured North American Youth Pop existence. Yet on that magical night, my life was changed forever...

My senses were overwhelmed, I was amazed by the sight of prominent dancers expressing themselves, and by the bodies in movement. I specifically remember the moment when I realized that the dance community doesn't pack the dance floor in closed circles, but rather exudes an individual organic flow moving in organized chaos, moving to each subtle swing of the beat! The matching of lighting visuals to the hartbeat of expressive rhythms invited each individual to move freely in a tribal fusion. I also remember hearing and finally understanding what drives, hooks, and compels dancers to the floor.

At some point during the evening, my shadow finally broke free of self-consciousness and I was unable to stop my body from expressing itself mechanically or rather organically. Finally, as I opened my eyes for what seemed like the first time, I understood, that here in this community of no boundaries, that life, body, mind, and spirit flow in harmony. Life is beautiful!

Nowadays, after some time studying music at University and graduating a digital audio engineer, I've noticed a change in my shadow. It has a new groovy glow and resonates with a rhythmic energy that I've never felt before. This energy has fused itselfdown to the core of my soul. It resides in my thoughts and guides my path in life. Every new tune I hear or make up gives purpose and meanining, and I wish only to further explore and deliver new audio from the ever increaing boundaries of our world's soundscape.

My style would best be described as everything. For I believe that from the beginning there has been good music, and it is my duty as a professional to find and deliver that music as best as I can. Whether it be mashing up old favorites, or FX crushing new classics, the goal is still the same; Have fun, and the rest will follow. I consider a job done well, when a wave of smiles contagiously crosses the dance floor. My mentor once told me: "Stop playing what you think people want to hear, and play what makes you happy!!" Believe it, that piece of advice undoubtedly has landed me where I am today.
